You know what is really, really depressing? When you find something that looks beautiful and delicious, and then it just doesn't turn out how it looks. In fact, it turns out disgusting. It's like false advertisement, and I think it should be illegal.
Take this for instance:
Gorgeous, right? A fresh fruit cake made with berries and peaches. Yum!Actually, it's not. Well, at least mine didn't turn out well, and Jeff didn't like it either. And Jeff likes everything--he is basically a human garbage can. He will eat anything. Except miracle whip. Go figure...
Anyway, when I made this little beauty it just did not work out. When I took the cake out of the oven it smelled like scrambled eggs...I just don't think that is natural. Plus when we ate it, it tasted like spongy, scrambled eggs. Definitely not natural.
I wouldn't care that much except I put all of my huge, delicious blackberries and strawberries into that cake! I didn't even save any to eat on the side. What a silly thing to do. Now the cake is just sitting on my stove top, and I don't know what to do with it. I will feel so guilty if I throw all of that beautiful fruit away, but I know in my heart of hearts that if I don't, then the cake will sit there for several weeks and turn moldy. Ick.
You know what else is false advertisement? When a band that you absolutely love puts out a CD that, for the lack of a better word, sucks. Such as this heinous CD:
Things like this just scare me and make me want to only listen to the music from the good old days when bands rocked. I know that Muse put out a new cd recently, but I just don't know if I want to listen to it. What if it stinks it up as much as the new stuff Weezer has put out recently? I just don't know if I can handle it.Rant over and out.

I think I prefer the term "diverse palette" to "human garbage can" :)
Totally agree about the Saves the Day album & Weezer of course. I've only heard the last three tracks of the new Muse CD (they're instrumental w/ orchestra) and they're pretty awesome. I would hope the others tracks would be just as purchase worthy.
nice try, Jeff. I was hoping to see the picture of the cake you made, but, imagination has to do. But seriously, Fruit Cake?
