actually are very telling. How, you ask? Well, let me explain.
I am, when it comes to certain things, actually quite cheap. I like to save money, and not spend an exorbitant amount if I don't have to. This is very good in some ways, and not so good in others. It's good, for instance, when I want that really expensive thing that would be so cool, but then I don't buy it--cause we don't have money. Or I get the less expensive thing, that is actually just as good.
It's bad, however, when I just end up being a cheapskate. Cause some things are definitely worth the money, you know? Like take these new glasses, for instance. Insurance paid for them, because I haven't gotten new glasses in heaven knows how long. Well, I also needed new contacts at the time, and insurance won't cover glasses and contacts. So, I was going to have to spend money for the contact fitting fee, and the contacts. I had the option, instead of getting the glasses for completely free, to pay a little bit more (only like $25) and get thinner, better lenses. What did I do, cheapskate that I am? Yep, I just got the regular lenses.
Well, when I actually got the glasses I felt a pang in my stomach and wished I would have just paid a little bit more, to get the nice lenses. These ones have a glare, and are thick. Also, they make my eyes look twice as small as they naturally are. The other lenses would have helped with a lot of those problems.
So, life lesson learned for me. Some things are worth the money.
Here's my picture of the day:
The bread turned out fantastic. Soft, buttery, fluffy white bread. I dare you to find anything tastier than that. Speaking of delicious breads...someday I want to try to make nan. I wonder if it would turn out tasty, even though I don't have a tandoori oven? Yeah, cause I'm probably not going to fork over my non-existent money for that. We already established the fact that I'm a money hoarder.
Mmm, Indian food sounds so good right now. Hungry.
Well, I'm off to wrap my nephew's presents. He is such an amazing little kid...incredibly smart and super super cute. I love him. Anyway, happy Friday to everyone!
