what is Valentine's day really good for? Food.

Jeff and I are on this new kick of finding copy cat recipes online of our favorite restaurant foods. For Superbowl Sunday we invited Cameron and Lauren over and we had ourselves a little party. Jeff made some AMAZING food that we copied from Chili's... southwestern eggrolls and boneless buffalo wings. Delish.

Well, for Valentines Day I wanted to make something special for dinner, since going out to dinner here in Provo on this most horrendous of days is enough to drive you insane. We both really like Applebee's fiesta lime chicken, so I found a copycat recipe of that and made it. Wow--it was fantastic, if I do say so myself. I was telling Jeff that the real way to know if food is good, is to see if the cook likes it. If they do, then you know it was tasty. Anyway, I highly recommend this recipe to anyone! It tastes just like the real thing. (I'll post the photos of our real dinner someday when I upload the photos from the camera...)
Then we went and saw a movie. Our original plan was to see Taken, but alas it was sold out. We settled for Mall Cop, which in my opinion, was hilarious. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely stupid, but I adore Kevin James, so I ended up liking it. Also, can a movie really be that bad when you have delicious movie popcorn to snack on? I would venture to say no... Anyway, it was a fun night!

Well, I'm on this new kick called "I'm too busy/lazy to cook for my family". So we had take out Chinese food for Valentine's Day. The only thing romantic about it was that we waited until the kids were in bed to eat it.

We have this cookbook (http://www.qvc.com/scripts/detail.dll?item=F0806&cm_scid=crt) that I inherited from Grandma Brower. The only thing I've made out of it so far is Buffalo Wild Wing sauce. It tasted just like it! I'll have to see if it has fiesta lime chicken. Sounds delicious.
