taking a break from life

Jeff and I thought this was too funny, so I decided it had to be blogged.

Well, the other day--last Thursday I believe--we stayed up really late watching a movie. Why, I'll never know, since it was A Cinderella Story 2. Haha, it is just one of those movies that was so terrible that you can't look away...but every second you watch of it is painful. Anyway, it was quite exciting, but we finally went to bed around 1:30 or something.

The next morning, as you can imagine, it was very hard to get up. Jeff has a class at 8:00 and I usually go with him in the morning, even though my class doesn't start until 9:00. Well, because we decided to party hardy the previous evening, Jeff decided to skip his 8:00 class Friday morning so that we could sleep in. The only problem with this is, if you do not go to BYU at 8:00, then you will not find a parking spot. Period. Well, ok, you might find a parking spot, but you will have to park at the stadium and then walk 40 minutes to campus.

So we got all ready and drove to school for our 9:00 classes. Of course, there were NO spots to be found. We drove all over campus--literally! We went to our usual parking lot--nothing. We went to the Smith Fieldhouse parking lot--nothing. We went to a few other parking lots--nothing. We went to the Taylor building parking lot--nothing.

By this time it is about 9:05 and we are getting pretty frustrated. Both of us were trying to convince the other person to just go to class, and we would find a spot eventually. Then we started throwing around the idea of just going to get breakfast, since there weren't any spots open. Well, we decided that we would check our usual parking lot one more time...low and behold, we found a spot! It was only like 9:10, so if we walked fast, we could probably make it to our classes by 9:20ish. We pulled into the parking space and got ready to grab our bags. Just then Jeff was like, "Man, breakfast sounded really good though." I replied, "I know, I was really hoping that we wouldn't find a spot so we would be forced to go...wan't to still go?" "Yeah!" "Okay let's go!"

So, we quickly pulled out of our spot and drove down to good ole' McDonalds. It was good.
Moral of the story: Sometimes you just have to do what sounds good, instead of trying to be responsible all the time. This was probably one of the only times that I have truly ditched a class in college...and man it felt nice!!
