Kind of surreal

So Friday, after I picked up Jeff from work, we decided to go eat at an Indian restaurant. There was a coupon in the BYU newspaper for this new Indian buffet, so we decided to go try it. Haha, it was the weirdest place ever! Picture this...driving up to a 50's Diner that looks similar to this:

And then walking in the front doors, and seeing a picture of the Taj Mahal:

Apparently they opened up their new restaurant in an old 50's diner on University, but didn't want to remodel the place. So, you go get your food at this little buffet stand, and then go sit in your 50's themed booth. Oh, but don't worry, they still want you to feel like you are in India, so what do they do? Play Bollywood videos on the TV’s that they have set up in the diner!

So yeah, that was our dinner experience. Needless to say, we will stick with our usual Indian restaurant from now on--but it was still fun!

Later that night, Jeff and I went to the BYU bookstore for the Breaking Dawn party. Not really....we just went to pick up my book! (Jeff didn't really want to go, but he was kind enough to come with me!) I was planning on giving blood before I got my book, but there was a long line forming already to get the book, so we just got in line. It was fun because we were right next to a desk in the bookstore that had a display with those magnetic words that you use to form phrases. Jeff and I made some of our own that are sure to offend any good standing, self-righteous BYU student that is shopping in that area. I wish I could have hidden a video camera there...I wonder if anyone has seen what we wrote yet?

Anyway, I got my book and stayed up all night reading it. It was so good! I won't say anything about it, so I won't ruin any surprises.

So i'm so ticked... I pre-ordered Breaking Dawn but UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays so I got my book two days after it came out even though i PRE-ordered it! So needless to say i bought one on saturday to read over the weekend and returned it on Monday when my other one came :) haha

Oh my gosh, Jayson and I have been wondering how that 50's-diner-turned-Indian-Buffet is!! Haha!! That is sooo hilarious that you went there. It used to be Wingers...my favorite is that the Indians even kept the Elvis...is it Elvis?...statue outside of the restaurant. FUNNY!!

Yeah, I totally did that too Kelli! I saw that it was going to arrive sometime between August 5 and 19 and I was like, "Heck no!"

But yeah, that Indian place is really interesting...Casey, I would recommend the India Palace. It has better food. But if you want an EXPERIENCE, then definitely go there! I think that is Elvis, but that is a pic I got online of some other place, sadly enough. Elvis would have made dinner ten times as good!!
