As if you didn't know it was me. Who else would it be, silly?
Right now I'm sitting in the back of my mom's SUV sitting on overstuffed pillows and covered by a soft downy blanket. I have two pairs of comfy, warm socks on each foot. I'm looking into the rainy darkness and loving my life. It rained all day today. In Vegas. That never happens. It makes me ecstatic. And I don't have to deal with living in the inevitable snow that will come to Utah soon. Beautiful.
This morning when I was driving the dogs to the dog park, I pulled up to a stop light and inside the black Cadillac next to me sat Santa Claus. Seriously, he was right there. He had the fluffy red suit, the curly white beard and old man glasses. It made me smile. He turned into a housing development off of Tropicana...maybe his home away from the North Pole?

At the dog park the rain felt like mist. It stuck to my bangs, my UNLV sweatshirt that I pulled crumpled up out of the hamper, and my dog's ears. It reminded me of my favorite golf matches...outside on the country club grass lining up my shot in a lightly misty afternoon. Beautiful. Not my shot, but the rain...
I almost got in a car wreck today when the man in front of me stopped suddenly at a yellow light. My brakes locked and I slid. I saw the imminent wreckage coming upon me and all I could do was loudly say, "Crap, crap, crap." My brakes finally worked at the last minute and Jeff reached over me to lay on the horn. My hands shook for a while after that one. I stayed very far behind all cars on the road in front of me, after that.
I just watched Precious. Wow. Very moving, and very dejecting. I can't fathom how human beings can lead such different lives. How one person could have such opportunities, and another person could have nothing but sorrow. Man, I really want to do something to help people and animals who are hurting. I really want to know how to help.
Well, computer battery is dead and it's getting late. Time to go to sleep. Steph out.
