Those little things

Yesterday, during fast and testimony meeting, someone told a little joke. He said, "The other day someone asked me if I had ever been bit by an elephant. I replied that I had not. Then he asked me if I had even been bit by an insect. I had to reply that I had. He said, 'That's just what I mean. It's the little things that get you.'"

Although it didn't really make sense in the context that he was talking about in his testimony, I did have to give a small chuckle. It is a little ridiculous, but sometimes those are the ones that make the most impact.

I was just thinking about that, and I thought that in my the little things don't really "get me" in a bad way, but rather in a good way. It is the little things that I really love; the things that make me the happiest.

Like right now, as I write this, Hero is lying twisted around my feet, while I watch the tiny little puppy carry Hero's monkey (which is about as big as she is) as she walks slowly down the hallway. She is snorting adorably as she walks, and her little legs slide out from underneath her on the slick wood floor.

A little thing that makes me unexpectedly and extraordinarily happy. "It's those little things that get you."

So true, maybe because life is made up of little things. (I didn't know elephants bite...)
