California Trip

Sorry, I have been MIA lately. I started my new/old job on Monday and I have been busy! It's a good job and I really like the people I am working with, but it is pretty exhausting. By the time I get home at night I hardly have any time to eat and rest before it is time to go to sleep, and start the whole process over again. So, needless to say, I haven't had much time to blog.

Last weekend we went on a spur-of-the-moment trip to So. Cal, because we wouldn't be able to once I started working. So we went to LA for a day, and then went to Six Flags the next day.

Jeff is my hero and drove the whole way. I love that he does that! He doesn't mind driving, and I dislike it (plus I seem to get way more tired than he does) so he always does all of the driving on trips.

Here he is in his cool glasses my dad gave him. The sun was bright!

I didn't fall asleep! Hooray!

Once we got to LA we went by the Farmers Market. It had a really fun vibe about it. There were so many different stalls and types of food, which made it really hard to choose what to eat!

I chose a delicious falafel sandwich, and Jeff got some blackened red snapper.

Mmm, mmm, good.
I liked this picture.

Then we walked around "The Grove" which is an outdoor mall type thing right by the farmers market. Jeff liked this magnifying glass in Anthropologie.

When we left the farmers market we wanted to go by the beach, but got held up in the horrible California traffic. So frustrating! We did manage to get this shot from the car, but sadly that was the extent of our beach trip.

When we got to our hotel room, we found this! We got a deal on the room, but we weren't able to choose what kind of bed we got. The deal just insured that the room would be able to sleep two people.

So we made the most of it and jumped on the beds. They squeaked and groaned like they were going to break in half, but we still had fun!

Haha what a ridiculous picture! Guess I am not too graceful/good looking when I jump on the bed!

Then Jeff stretched across the bed while I laid on the floor and took pictures of him.

Cute, Jeff. Cute.

I like that my necklace looks like it is going to stab the camera!

Then we laid on the floor by the beds, resting from our jumping exercises. I'm an artistic photographer, huh?

The next day we went to Six Flags. It wasn't too crowded, and we got to ride all of the fun rides. Holy moly, I never knew what a roller coaster was until I rode X2! SO MUCH FUN! (Cameron and Lauren, we wanted to invite you, but you guys had to be boring and go to school!)

When we got back to the house that night, this is how we felt. Pooped.

But man, it was a fun trip!

Fun! Spontaneous trips are the best. By the way, I love your hair. It's always gorgeous.

Referring to your comment on my last blog, I'm sorry to have worried you! Maybe it would have been better to title it "Mitch and Val plus one dog for now." :)

what fun! Two beds are always better than one, for jumping back and forth on! Men should always to the driving, we're better drivers.

cute pics! How fun! I also am a grateful recipient of a Steed driver with great stamina. Jamie prefers driving to child management in the car and I'm glad cause I just can't cut it behind the wheel for long trips.
